Busy week

Joaquin has already had a busy week and it's only going to get busier. Sunday night Janell and Jess came to visit. Joaquin got to meet the dentist since I had an appointment, and then went to a Mexican restaurant for the first time. He's also had his second bath. Later this week my friend Keith will visit, and on Saturday he'll get to go to Samara's 1st birthday party and meet lots of new people. I just hope he does well on the 2 hour drive there!

Joaquin had his first outing to a Mexican restaurant Monday while Janell and Jess were visiting. As you can tell he was quite impressed ;)

This is how Grandpa Rich looks every time he sees Joaquin.... that is unless he is copying Joaquin's facial expression. I think Joaquin already has him wrapped around his finger... we're gonna be in trouble!
After his second bath... he liked this one much better than the first bath.

Joaquin doesn't have too many screaming episodes... but when he does and we don't have a pacifier handy we've learned a finger or thumb will suffice. He has such a strong suck.... I'm kind of glad that I wasn't able to breastfeed... ouch!

First Bath

On the day Joaquin turned 4 weeks old he finally lost his umbilical cord stump. I went in to change him in the middle of the night and there was something on his back. Turns out in all his wiggling he had loosened it and it had traveled beneath him. Grammy Janet was of course thrilled because this meant we could finally give Joaquin a real bath and she would be able to get the pictures she had been waiting for. I uploaded the pictures to Kodak for everyone to see... they are quite amusing, but here are some for you to see here. Also, earlier this week I accidentally took a video when I was trying to take a picture, and it was pretty cute, so I decided to keep it and upload it here.
